do i have a mini me swap?
I did some searching but couldnt find anything, I bought a 90 civic hatch a few months ago and was wondering if there's any obvious signs if I have a d16z6 head on my d15b7 block? It looks like there's a spot to put the VTEC but I'm not positive. So, anything specific I can look for to tell me what head I have?

The VTEC assembly would have to be in place to keep from leaking oil all over... and it would be found on the back edge of the cylinder head closest to the passenger side end. It has a 1" diameter cylinder shaped device sticking straight up toward the hood.
I suppose that someone could fabricate a plate to remove it... it would be held in place by 3 10mm headed bolts in a ">" shape. If the block off plate that you see has 2 bolts holding it in place and they are straight across from each other ("._."), it is simply a block off plate for a mechanical fuel pump that was installed on some JDM applications in the late 80's and carried over in the casting until 1991.
