Del Sol vs. Civic hatch......H22 vs. B18c
Currently I got a 5g prelude.....lotsa goodies and nitrous.....i wanna get rid of it though....Im torn between a DelSol and 96+hatch and between the engines....which car is lighter? Most importantly what swap is more cost effective.....I think I can use the tranny from a b16 (in the sol) with a b18 (right?)....Im not partial to either engine although i love my h22 and have some parts for it which is a plus for the h22 arguement. Either way I will have the N20 for the swap.....All I want is mid 13s NA and low 13/high 12 juiced? What is easier? If i could save money with the sols b16 platform (mounts, tranny, wiring) in conjunction with a b18c that would be cool. Either way some opinions would help....
I did search and read archived posts for hours too.....

Yes you can use your b16 trani with the b18. If you want 13's go with the h22 for sure. You should run in the 13's with that swap in either of those 2 cars. It will be a little cheaper to go with the b series but you will have to put a bit of money into it to run 13's all motor. so you should just go with the h22 for sure.As for wiring the c1 or the h22 the wiring is the same for either of them. The only difference is that the h22 wiring is a bit longer!
To make a long story short stick with the BIG BLOCK h22!

12.6 @ 108 mph on 22x7x13 slicks, 1.9 60' time, 1900 lb hatchback, stock JDM H22 motor, Hotshot 4-1 race header (ran open header), Spoon P13 ECU, and lots of practice. That was on the 5th run.... first couple of runs were like 13.4 and 13.3 times. Until I got the launch down with the H22 Civic, you'll be spinning in 1st & 2nd gears. Best time on drag radials with same setup above... 13.4 @ 104 mph with a 2.0 60' time. Best time ever - 11.5 @ 118 mph with a 1.9 60' time and a 100 shot of NOS. Again, that was on the 3rd run of the day... 1st run was a meager 12.4 so that also goes to show that it takes practice to get the launch down due to traction problems, so get to know your car pretty well if you go to the track.
