del Sol swap info...*did a search*
Ok, after many hours of searching everywhere, including H-T.com, I have not come up with enough info. If someone could help me out, I would be very greatful.
I have a friend who bought a '94 del Sol Si with a bombed D16Z6 in it. He is interested in swapping in a B16, but it a little leary at the difficulty. I read here: http://tech.hybridgarage.com/tech/5gtech/index.html , that the B16A2 swap is a "direct bolt in". Just a couple of questions.
Does the "direct bolt in" mean that all mounts, linkage, and wiring is there in the del Sol already and will plug into the engine harness without trouble? I know also that there are some wires you have to check to make sure they are there.
Does the ECU plug into the car like it was meant to be there? Or do you need a new harness?
Is the B16A2 in question OBD-1 or OBD-2? Is it the same as the Sir-2 swap that I can get at http://www.jdmclub.com for $2390?
The guys wants a painless install for the most part. If this is too much trouble he is just going to buy a D16Z6 long block and drop it in. What do you Hybrid Gods think?

Re: del Sol swap info...*did a search* (2.2)
If you can get a B16 out of a del sol it will hit right in, whitout a problem. Make sure that you keep everything obd1. Thats what your car is. I've also been told that the computer from the D16 will work on the B16, don't hold me to that though.
I'm working on a D15 to ls/vtec swap right now, i'm hunting down info for that right now . If i get any more info i'll let you know.
