Correct me if I'm wrong, but the manual rack steering ratio is much slower then the power steering rack, basically you have to turn the wheel more then in a power steering rack. On my swap with removing P/S I have zero problems, maybe your rack was already going out...

it probably was. if i just buy another power rack, what i'll do is properly loop the lines with a breather.
