d16z6 vs. mini-me
its it better to swap out the short block of a z6 for a mini-me setup or to just keep the full z6? are mini-me swaps only good for head swapping, not short block swapping? would swapping out the short block lose power? thanx

Re: d16z6 vs. mini-me (trix are for kids)
the whole point to the mini me motor setup is the dx block for its torque characterisitcs, so, if u want a good amount of power, find yerself an ex/si head

Re: d16z6 vs. mini-me (SIXTYdashONE)
i wanted to bring this back up by asking is lsvtec/crvtec the same thing as the mini-me swap? it seems to do the same thing (up the torque)but just more expensive. am i correct? so in that case must you build up the nonvtec block to except higher revs to?

Re: d16z6 vs. mini-me (TrAnCeD_RaCeR)
There is no torque benefit on a mini-me. The dx engine just sucks. The mini-me is a poor excuse to make up for it and no more. Its just easier to swap a head than an engine. the d-series blocks are so over engineered its rediculous. The weak link is R's & P's. So there is no building needed. Just swap the head.
The ls/vtec is a little more complicated because of the external oil line. The mini-me doesnt need it. Neither does an h23 with h22 head combo.
