D16y8 help please? What is this hose for?
OK.
I have a 97 EX. I pulled the stock motor because it was blown, and replaced it with a 2000 EX motor.
Where is this hose connection suppost to go too???
The one in the middle of the intake manifold? It was not on the 97 manifold, and if I can reroute it instead of changing the manifold, that would be GREAT!
I noticed the exhaust manifold was different, so I used the old one from the 97 motor.
I also noticed there was an extra place for a hose on the thermostat housing from the 00 motor that was not on the 97 motor. So, again, I just took the 97 housing, and put it on the new motor.
Here is some pics of the difference in the housings!

Throw the 2000 model thermo housing back on there and then run a hose from the pipe on the intake manifold to the thermo housing.

top picture: the hose looks like the pcv house thats routed to the IM.
bottom picture: that extra hose looks like the air injection used only in the 99-00 d16y8 cars. its only used during startups. you can plug that up if u want.

Replace the water thermostat housing on the 00 with the 97 one. Replace the intake manifold on the 00 with the 97 one.
The 99+ Y8's have the air injection system that helps it get warmed up in the morning. That's what that extra fitting on the manifold and thermostate housing is for.
Basically when the thermostat isn't opened up yet because the cooling system is too cold, extra air gets passed through four little pee-holes on the intake manifold to the intake ports.
