D16y7 to D16y8 swap .. please help
I've tried a search, but please direct me to the right link if I missed it.
I'll be doing a D16y8 swap into my 97 dx tomorrow, and wanted to know if there was some links/websites that showed this process step by step.
Also, does anyone know if my y7 header/o2 sensor will be the same on the y8?
Thank you very very very much

The header is not the same. Are you using a Y8 ECU too? You'll probably have issues with the IACV, VTEC and KS wiring.

a header that worked for a y7 should indeed work for a y8. the pan clearance might be looser, but it'll work.
as chris said, you have to address the KS, IACV and vtec stuff. There is a ton of info about this available, but the short version is-
p2p ecu needs a two wire iacv, so put a two wire iacv on the manifold, use the y8 TB, and do the pin swap detailed at the lower portion of this graphic-
after you do what's on that diagram, you will ahve an extra wire going into the cabin in your harness left over from the iacv deal, i ended up pinning that as one of the wires that would've had to been added for the vtec engine- knock sensor, vtec pressure or vtec activation. gave me one less wire to run. if you are running a p2p y8 ecu, you will need to add pins to the cabin plugs for the ecu in the appropriate spots for the extra ****...

if you plan on using the Y8 exhaust manifold you will have to extend the O2 wiring. Run wiring for the knock sensor, vtec pressure switch, vtec solenoid, and 2 wire IACV. PM or email me for any help
