D16A6 in EG need some help
My friend has the chance to acquire a freshly rebuilt d16a6 longblock from another one of my friends for dirt cheap to put in his vx...he also has a z6 head laying in his garage and an si tranny too..would this be beneficial?? he plans on buying it and building it for all motor in the winter and installing it in the spring...i know he needs to look out for the obd0-obd1 but is there anything else to look out for? thanks guys

It's a very easy swap. I did one for a friend of mine in his 95 DX hatch. I had a 90 D16A6 longblock in good shape and dropped it in. The best thing to do is use all OBD1 parts, intake manifold included if you can. Replace the driver's side mount bracket and mount with the EG ones and it'll bolt right in.
If you plan to do a mini-me then of course you'll be swapping the head and you'll want to get a P28 ECU or have the VX ECU chipped. Since the VX is a VTEC-E, it has the VTEC wiring, all you need to do is convert to a 4 wire O2 and that's about it.

Yep it would be fine to do. Same as my B7 mini me...use the Z6 timing belt, everything else should work. Although, i'm not sure about the 5 wire 02 thing...i'd ask around. Also, I don't know how similar the fuel curves are from the P07 to the P28.
