Default D15B7 with D16Y8 Head

I currently have a 95 civic DX (D15B7), in a few months I hope to put in a B16a or a B18C1. But for fun I have an oppertunity to buy a D16Y8 head for real cheap. I know I will also need a VTEC controller or a new ecu, which wouldn't be to hard to come by. Is my current bottom end stable enough to handle that head? Would it still be reliable. Would it be worth the time and money?
