D series breath
I have heard that all D-series intake manifolds are interchangeable with the D's. Also in my "I have heards" that the A6 was the best breathing manifold. I myself have a D15B7 that is stock (except CAI, but who doesn t have that) and i would like to upgrade. since this is the best piece for the job, wouldn t buying the better designed aftermarket pieces (edelbrock, skunk2?) be even more beneficial? How does this sit in all of ur opinions? car's a 92 civic dx sedan if it matters. I have no interest in swapping engines, either. thank you!!

if you drop in a better camshaft and run the Skunk2 manifold you should see & feel some gains. But if you're planning to leave your motor no more than stock, don't bother wasting your money. You're money would be better spent swapping a SOHC VTEC head onto your DX engine.

you can fully bolt-on a Y8 IM onto your DX head, reuse your DX fuel rail & injectors. Just make sure you pick up a 5-speed Y8 IM, because the IACV comes into play. auto Y8 IM's use a 3-wire IACV which becomes a hassle, whereas a 5-speed Y8 IM uses a regular 2-wire IACV such as the one found on your DX's IM.

Re: D series breath (Shadow Templar)
I believe Mista Bone has gotten some good power (relatively speaking) out of the D series including the B7. I heard stories about him running down or holding off a 99Si with his DX hatch up to 130mph.

Re: D series breath (DerangedEG)
Ya, the D-series is not bad at all. lol, when my hood was crumpled i had a breeze going into the intake and the gains were phenomenal! these engines are just underrated. if better breathing increases it that much, then a full work over could be very beneficial
