CTR N1 pulley for b18c5 yay or nay?
Got a '98 b18c5 s80 LSD stage 3 clutch and a Fidanza 7.5lbs flywheel, not on yet. CTR N1 pulley a good idea for it?

Re: CTR N1 pulley for b18c5 yay or nay?
At least that's what I read on the Internet. lol
It supposedly doesn't have any dampening materials, which is not the case for your OEM unit. Dampening works wonders for an engine in most cases.
Then it will make you wonder why in the world it was used for heavy duty (high rpm sustaining) enduro racing as it was designed to be used for. lol, the reason is probably two faced, but most likely not. The first and true reason is that those enduro cars didn't drive thousands of miles a month on a public highway. Okay, now the least likely reason is that those who installed this pulley and blew their motors up would have been just as likely to blow up their engine with a stock pulley.

Prepare to have to replace a failed oil pump. These pulleys are used by Honda for their race cars, which had an intended use of about 20,000kms max. Daily driven cars will have abuse put on their oil pump due to the lack of dampening materials.

Weird, going on 5 years with my built GSR running a CTR pulley.
Guess how many oil pumps I've had to replace? ZERO.

I was watching a video of one6 swapping a ITR motor into a civic and they were talking to put CTR pulley into to make it just a little bit better. So i guess its yay!

i vote yay, but u wont notice a difference. i beat the hell out of my gsr with a ctr pulley and it still has the original oil pump. my machine shop said if ur engine is going to fail it will do so with a stock pulley too. so if u wanna spend the 60 bucks go fer it, but i didnt see any differnece.

just run your stock itr one and spend money on better things. if the itr one is to heavy for your liking, just shave off the pulleys that wont be used. Also does a stock itr really need a stage 3 clutch

I had this on my b16,it made the motor rev easier (alittle) and you really can tell that the motor starts to vibrate alot more, especially drivers whom use performance nmotor mounts can tell this IMO!

why not get a 7lb flywheel then and rev that .0002 seconds faster and keep the harmonic balencer just as it is....
when it breaks and shreds your motor to pieces is it going to be worth it?
some people say they have used it for X years with no problems...thats fine and dandy....but not all motors are the same...none of them have been treated the same or have the same strength components as every other used motor....
