Default CRX B18A1 Hybrid

I have a 88 CRX SI w/B18A1... I'm new to Honda tuning (DSM owner), so I have some stupid questions. The car only has intake/jdm Tbody and mani. It also has jdm exhaust headers and 2.5 full exhaust (this all came w/car for $2500). I'm not sure on what HP #'s I should expect from this engine, can anyone help. I'm also curious on what mods would be good to make to this car... turbo vs NA. I have noticed not alot of people use the B18 for swaps, what gives? Is it a good power plant? I was also wondering what is the potential of this engine.

The LS motor is a good platform to turbocharge. It has a lower compression ratio compared to the other B-series motors and puts out good torque. NA, the LS motor should get you into the 14's, turbocharged, 12's or lower depending on the mods done to the motor. The LS motor is often overlooked as a swap, but for daily driving, I'd take an B18A/B over a B16.

I have the same swap. The only problem I have is that its so cramped in the engine bay. I love my car but I would love more room too.
A properly tuned turbo LS is badass. I was running in the 12s. On the street its just insane! All motor....eh...NOS is pretty quick too.

Like what was said before you can get into 14s, maybe, with what you got.

Plus if you get tired you can go ls/vtec without a whole lot of pain with taking the motor out.

A stock B18A1 CRX with an average driver will run low 15's. Not 14's.
