crankshaft sensor ,distributor, obd problem.... plz help
Hi guys im swapping in a 94 gsr motor into my 99 si. the gsr doesnt have a crankshaft sensor. My question is should i use my obd2 dizzy, or the obd 1 dizzy because i am going to convert to obd 1 anyways. Please let me know what i should do exactly. i appreciate your guys help.... l8tr

The crankshaft sensor you are talking about is the CKF(crankshaft fluctuation sensor) which helps detect engine misfire. Your setup will depend on the ecu you use since the obd1 gsr ecu wont look for the CKF sensor. The dist's work the same and I would use an OBD2 dist to avoid rewiring the harness to a 2 plug obd1 dist. In other words, get an OBD1 GSR ecu (or a chipped equivalent) and keep the obd2 dist since the obd1 and 2 dist function the same. My .02
