I need to know the location of the crank sensor on my J-spec B16a first gen , also what it looks like , like a brief discription of it and maybe what color wires are going to it . I know you hybrid guys wont let me down.

If your talking about the Crank fluctuating sensor thats bolted on the oil pump, then your engine doesn't have one. Only the 96+ USDM engines have it.

No i'm talking about the crank sensor that tells the motor where TDC is and controlls the flow of fuel if this sensor isnt working right then the car wont start .

I've done a JDM 1st gen b16a swap, a JDM 2nd gen b16a swap and recently a JDM 96 OBD2 GSR swap. None of these engines had crank sensors. THERE is NO crank sensor on JDM engines. There a sensor in the distributers that tells the ecu when the crank/cams are a TDC etc. thats it, most people who don't want to replace the oil pump on a OBD2 swap uaually splice the 2 crank fluctuating sensor wires into 2 wires in the distributor. If you have the engine and your looking for it, STOP cuz its not there!!!

OK then if my motor doesnt have one then what is like the crank sensor that would stop my car from starting but then let it start sometimes and then not again . Because my machanic didnt know it didnt have a crank sensor but he said the problem sounded like a crank sensor so do you have any ideas?
