crank angle sensor (yes i searched)
hey guys-
a friend of mine just finished up dropping a 99 ls b18b into his 99ex civic.
he's getting the CAS code with both ecu's plugged in, so its not the computer.
we tripple checked the wires, and the grounds, and simply can't figure out how to turn the damn thing off so it wil rev over 3500.
I searched i found a thread that said something about the distributor, but i didn't understand it.
Cliff notes: obd2 sucks.

Re: crank angle sensor (delvtecsol)
What was the code number...
you have to be carefull... your crank angle sensor is actually on the crank..
its mounted to the oilpump and reads teeth on the gear when the crank spins...
take a look to see if it is connected...

Re: crank angle sensor (newspeedR)
lucky #4.
ran into some more problems tonight. the distributor is all wrong.
Man, the shop that did his swap are a bunch of retards. I'm trying to help him get his car running AFTER he paid a grand to have a shop install it. WTF. they should have done this, no? shops thinking they can swap, but can't.
anyway, does the distributor have a direct relation to the Crank angle sensor?

Re: crank angle sensor (VTECVillain)
ahh-- that makes sense... so its more likely the dizzy than the crank postion. ok, good. Thanks for the info
see, i was thinking that the cps is in the dizzy on obd1, but i was pretty sure it is by the crank pulley on obd2.

If you pull off your cap, take out the set screw for the rotor, pull of the rotor and the shield underneath, you will see the ignitor and the black box with two wires running out the side. One is a peach color and the other is a white wire. That black box is the crank position sensor.
