conversion wiring harnesss *not working help*
I'm trying to switch my 97 honda dx to a obd I computer. I tried it tonight with a p06, which is for a non vtec 1.6. Well it started up but ran rough, and eventually died. I want to switch it to a p28 when i swap on my y8 head. But if it won't run, it won't help me any. Is there something else i need to do. This is suppose to be a conversion A i believe, which i was sure was right. It is just an ebay one, but the guy had really good feed back. No CEL, which i thought was wierd, as a p06 is a single wire o2, i thought, and i'm using a 4 wire with the 97. Anywyas, i tried this in the civic forum with no luck, anyone with suggestions, i want to swap the head this weekend, but not worth it without a good computer to run vtec.
Thanks
Thanks

The "A" and "B" harness part -the 97 is an A, if you got the wrong style (a or b) harness adapter, it wouldn't plug into your wiring. Clips are different.
The 4 wire 02 is fine and correct.
Had you done anything to the engine or the engine wiring? Or, did you just plug this right up?

just plugged it in, i wanted to see if all would work before ripping off the head and swapping, thus having two hondas not running. I checked the harness for continuity, but not for any wrong pinouts yet. Are these suppose to be plug and play? I have obd I injectors and distriutors i can put in there, but i thought the idea was that you didn't have to do that stuff....

Okay, i used a p05 computer, idles fine, but throws a cel, o2 sensor i'm guessing since that computer wants to see a one wire. So i throw back in the p06, idles crappy like last time, so i rev it up a few times, and on comes the cel. Code 14, IAC valve.
1. Whats the difference between the p05 and the p06 that one runs and one won't.
2. When i use the p28, do i need to use a obd I iac, which i have plenty of, or when i re-wire my iac to a y8 vtec one will that be good.
Has anyone used these harness before?? The only info i find, is that you need to buy one, but yet to find much info on using them.
One last question, if i do the head swap, and can't get this working, would my y7 computer run the y8, or is it going to freak out about the IAC thing also. I would just swap this and figure it out, but doing so will result in two hondas down, as the y8 head is coming off my turbo car.
