ok so the college i'm going for some automotive electrical has an area where the check the swaps to make sure theyre legit. well i was talking to one of the guys and they said that when installing the wiring harness it has to be that of the other engine. i understand this.
the guys that installed my engine used the teg harness AS WELL AS part of the civic harness. the ref guys told me it wouldnt pass.
what i wanted was to get an input from this forum from the guys that have done obd-2 civic swaps as to what harness they used for their smog legal swap.

how would the emission refs even know what to look for on the engine harness? they already have a hard time telling VTEC from vtech. hahahahaha...
not sure if this helps answer your question but when I did an obd1 gsr swap into my lil bro's EG civic, I reused the civic harness. took it to emissions, they didn't even pop my hood to look. just did the gas cap and tailpipe test, passed with flying colors. this is in WA though. not sure about other states.

Re: (Honda Sport)
u gotta use the civic harness for the gsr swap in a 96+ civic..the teg harness is a 2piece design and the civic is 1piece but i think that u can use a teg harness for a swap in a eg tho but not ek...plus i dont think refs can tell the diff. in wireing harness...and yes i live in cali with a 96 jdm gsr in a 98 ek and i havent smogged my car for over 2 years but still manage to get my stickers LEGALLY...
