Code 21 Driving me nuts. b16a2 - CRX - conv. harness
Okay. We put a usdm 00Si b16 into a crx around christmas. It was good at first, but then the ecu would throw a 21 CEL. We double checked everything. No problem found.
Reset ECU and my cousin drove back to VA. Well he used to be able to reset the ECu and it would go away. Now it is on from the time the car starts.
Could it be the ecu? Reason i ask, i had this same ecu in my car and right before we took it out to put in his car it did this. Threw a 21 in my Teg. It is a chipped ecu (p28)
Only problem is, he has my JDM Vtec solenoid too. So i am guessing it has to be one of those. Right?
Anything else to throw into the variable? TIA!!!

I know what it is. It is the oil pressure supply.
It works fine when you first start the car. After about 10 minutes, the CEL21 pops up and no vtec.
If you reset the ecu, it works until 21 pops up again. This same chipped p28 was in my Integra and did this twice before i took it out. I never thought anything of it but i has become more frequent lately.
Shitty thing is he also has my JDM vtec solenoid so it could be either.
It is even harder to trouble shoot because he is in VA and I am in FL. BUT i know everything was right wiring wise. It didn't start doing this until he was almost back in VA
I am thinking it is the ecu???

well I think its the JDM VTEC solenoid. It doesn't have a pressure switch right?just a blank where it should go on a USDM. Tell him to borrow a USDM VTEC solenoid from someone and swap it out. Easiest way to diagnose it.

I have the oil pressure switch bypassed.
Any know if the ecu can cause an intermittent problem like this?
I need to check my oil pressure also. I know the ecu still requires a certain oil psi for vtec to work properly. Aside from the VPS.
