Default Chipped p28 CEL (I searched)

Hey guys. Just got finished installing my b18C1 w/ skunk2 IM into my 99 EX coupe. I started off running the stock p72 ecu, but i found out that vtec wouldnt kick in right. So, I plugged in my chipped obd1 p28 and ran it up the street. Well that sucka pulled HARD one time into VTEC but then threw a cel and went into limp mode. I checked the code, and I think it is 21 (vtec selinoid) long--long--short. So how do I fix this?????? Thanks in advance!!!!!! OH BTW the motor is a 2000 B18C1, and the Oil sending unit is not plugged in (have the greddy one for the gauges) Could that have something to do with it?

compare the solenoid pinout of the p28 (A4) to your p72 (?). I don't know if they are different or not, but its a start. And what do you mean by your oil sending unit?

my badd oil pressure switch. I know the newer GSR motors (mine is a 2000) dont have it. I think the p28 is looking for it and thats why it is throwing this code. is this correct??

Unless your engine is a JAP SPEC, it has an oil pressure switch. But your car is throwing a code 21 VTEC spool solenoid valve, if not mistaken this is the single wire pin out on the Vtec solenoid. Put power to the single wire and listen if it ticks. Also just take the complete Solenoid off and clean the screen.

Yeah the VTEC works fine withe tmy obd2 p72 but not with this one. THe car has hella mad vtec the first time you crack it, but after that, it throws the code and goes into limp mode

For some unexplainable reason check the wires on the conversion harness to see if it's not loose or something.. Pretty sure it's all right but it does not hurt to try.
