cel..knocksensor...ONLY after 3k rpm, just did b16a swap
i have no cel... until i get up to 3000rpm....code 23 knock sensor comes on...im not quite sure the wire is in the ecu well, but since the cel light is not on until 3000 i would guess it is...has anyone had this problem....also there is a reeming noise coming from the motor and gets louder as the rpms go up, im not sure what that is either
what is everyones idle set to for the b16a's, mine is about 900
ps i had 87 octane in the tank when i swapped, but filled the rest with 93 after swap and i changed the fuel filter...would 87 cause this problem...i wouldnt think so

A reeming noise?????
Sounds like your detonating... Does it sound like a bunch of BB's rattling in a tin can?
If so, turn the engine off!!!! and figure out why our detonating or you will also be putting internals in soon.

Re: cel..knocksensor...ONLY after 3k rpm, just did b16a swap (Jsarv)
It would have been best to mix the 87 with some 100 and then top off with 93 before you did the swap. This will help bring the 87 up to 93. But it still should have been fine because we only get 91 out here and JDM B16s run great on that...
As for the knock sensor, did you run the wire for it from the passengers side shock tower to the back of the ECU? None of the EG civic main wire harness are per-wired for the knock sensor...
What engine harness are you using?

Re: cel..knocksensor...ONLY after 3k rpm, just did b16a swap (94eg!)
im using my stock harness, ran the knock sensor wire straight to the ecu, i pulled my computer out and checked the connection, it was not in there good, so i redid it and now it is connected good and no cel comes on...problem solved, i ran my tank to empty, and filled up with 93 and some lucas fi-cleaner...still makes like a whistling-reeming noise...timing is correct, vtec engages correctly, runs awesome
what are the usual idles for b16...im about 900
thanks for your responses
where can you get 100 octane...i live in ky and have only seen 93...nothing higher

In Vegas 76 stations used to carry 100. They stopped in the last few years, and the local Rebel stations started after that. Only a few locations in town have it. If you ran your system out of 87, then your fine anyways. Our supream is only 91 out here, and B16 can survive just fine on that...
The sound could be from a vacuum leak or even an aftermarket air intake. It's hard to diagnose issues like that where your not there messing with the car. Might be best to have someone look at it if you think it's a problem...
