Default CEL 14 and 21

ok well i started my motor today for the first time. its lsvtec with ITR head. im using a GSR obd1 wiring harness. i got 3 codes.. 14,21,41 (o2 sensoe wasnt plugged in) 14 is IAC.. and 21 is VTEC soledoid. can anyone help me here on how to test them.


thanx-- i did some searches on cel 14. for teh cel 21 should i just check voltage?

just check continuity from the solenoid plug to the wire of the ecu, then make sure you have the right pin, maybe you counted wrong, What kind of car???????

You can get the two wires from the iacv and hook the negative on the negative battery and touch the positive to the positive battery for a split second. If you hear a clickin noise in the iacv it works . Warning, only do this long enough to hear the click then stop.

You can also do the same with the VTEC Solenoid. Disconnect the plug and use a 12V+ jumper off of your battery and give the solenoid power. You will hear it click on and of when the voltage is supplied and removed.

the solenoid has power.. the the VTEC pump i guess... but i checked for power using a voltmeter like the helms said and i couldnt manage to get power out of the IAC plug nor the VTEC plug.. ill try the battery thing tomorow for the IAC plug.
