Car has a B18 ref sticker...can i go back to D16 ?????
I just ref my b18b1 motor in my 96 honda civic hatchback and was wondering if i ever go back to D16y7, do i need to take it to the ref station again?? My friend's telling me that if i swap the d16 back in, I need to ref it again. If not then when my smog date comes up and they run my VIN or get info from my car, it'll show up B18b1 and will not pass emissions. Is this true or not? i just don't want to hang on to my D16y7 forever if i can't put it back in.
help is appreciated, thanks.

No, you will not need to ref it again if you put the stock engine back in it. I've done it personally myself and had no problems when I sold the car.
