Cant figure out whats wrong
ok my friend put a 94 GSR swap into a 93 civic ex. He is running the p72 ecu. The problem is that it starts up and runs fine then after 10 or 15 minutes or when it warms up the car shuts off and wont restart until its cool again. I am thinking that its a wiring problem? Any one else have a better or more specific idea of what it could be? Oh yeah and tried a p28 ecu to thinking that it was an ecu problem but that sisnt help either. Thanks

Re: Cant figure out whats wrong (Prod)
check to see if the car is getting spark at the plug wires when it gets hot and dies, this will rule out any mechanical/fuel problems and go from there

First off the car is a VX not an EX. Second the car doesnt sputter just turns right off and when trying to restart there is no spark. Hopefully this will help thanks.

Re: (92hybridAccord)
well.. i had this problem before...
and when my car died, it had no spark either... it was a wiring issue here. my black/yellow wire off of the distributor was shorting out after it got warm. and then after it cooled, it would start again. i ran a new wire, and whala!!! it works again.
at the same time my tachometer was jumping around crazy too.. (not actual engine revs, just the tach.) i took my ignition cylinder apart and found that the white circuit thing in there was fried. i replaced it with one from another ignition, and now it all runs like a champ again.
oh. and btw, before i found either of these 2 problems, i replaced my ignitor, coil, and then the whole dizzy. ended up costing me alot just to find out that those things werent my problem...
advice. start with the cheapest things first.
