heres what i think of a k20 swap

RETARDED

why in gods name would you spend 7500$ on THE SWAP! PLUS the kit to get it running wich isnt even released yet (expect about 2000$) PLUS the subframe for the k20. for the 10-12000$ your gonna spend you could have a 10 second street car.

Actually, figure it is gonna cost less than $1500 to get it in the car once you purchase the K20 swap. And you won't need the subframe, that's just for 01 and up Civics. Providing you are doing the work of course.

hey thats not fair you work at hasport!!! you know more than i do about it!!
eithre way its more money than a turbo built b series swap.

so the 10,000$ estimate is a little high unless your having the swap done at a shop. lets rephrase to 8-10,000

Hey man if you got the money go for the k20, the hatch from Area 51 isn't all that slow for a basically stock motor.... But if you have the h22a already just get a turbo and boost.....

Peace
hasport

(feel free to ask why I said that, and why I will never purchase another product from hasport)

It'll probably be $699 and it won't be out for a couple of months.

spending anywhere close to the money for the k20 you can build a pretty bad *** h22 turbo...it would be a waste of a good motor to not throw it in since you already got one

Default My how times have changed...

I remember not too long ago when people would say, "Screw the B16 in the CRX, get a ZC and for the price of the B16 swap you could turbo a ZC and have more power" And then there was "why sould you want an H22, the car will handle like crap do a B-series and modifiy it."

Times are a changin', you can go willingly or whining all the way.

You guys shouldnt shot something down without even thinking about it. These K20 motors are no joke. I know a guy that has a rsx with 3 bolt on mods and hes running a 14.1 on street tires, full street trim. Thats freaking awesome for a car that weighs 2700lbs. If you looked at dr.charles' car he ran a 13.2 on his one and only pass. Thats a full interior street tire hatch that could easily run a 13.0 and thats a stock motor. Im sorry but thats freakin awesome. Another cool thing is that you can pick up rsx swaps for a pretty good price right now since demand isnt all that high and people dont know what they have. Just say that even if you spent 6k all together on the swap thats still a great deal for a low 13 second car thats still stock with tons of potential. Im thinking about a year from now this swap will be a bit more common. I thought about doing it to my car cause i like to be a difficul bastard. Would be pretty cool popping the hood and showing the K20 also. You have people not knowing what the hell is going on. Anyways thats my 2 cents on the K20. Go K series.

im not saying the k20's suck
they are great motors and im anxiously waiting to play with one

but for the money, its a stupid swap.
for 10,000$ you could fully build an h22 and boost it and be in the 11's or maybe 10's if you can drive.
