96-98 plugs are different then those of 92-5 ecus and will not work. this is where the harness converter comes in handy. also what year is the hatch

It's going into a 92-95 hatch, maybe coupe now since hatchys are hard to find now a days in Texas, how much do harness converters go for?

forget about that GSR harness, unless you plan on swithcing the 92-95 car to OBD2(what a pain) im gpoing to guess that you have a 95 GSR engine to with that?....just use the 95 GSR ECU in the EG, depending on trim level you will just need to add a few wires. we also make a sub harness for that swap to add onto the stock engine harness that will add everything you need.

So, do you have the engine yet?

OK...lets start over. Here are some Q's I have when someone wants to do a swap and there trying to figure out what they need.
What year is the car? (you said you plan on 92-95)
What trim level? (EX, DX, VX, Si blah blah)
What engine do you want to swap in?
Now you say you have a 95 GSR ECU that you want to use, well unless you use a GSR head you will through a code for IAB which the b16a head doesnt have. With the CR-V/VTEC set up you want to run I would suggest a chipped P28 or a P30 ECU, either one will work great. Use all OBD1 electronics (injectors, distributor and ECU) and it will be way easier on you, Its as simple as this, you have an OBD1 car use OBD1 electronics.....

Well i planed on getting a dx or vx whichever i can find at a good price, as for the ecu situation, no one has ever told me this about the ecu, and I'm glad you did becuz i have a p28 ecu laying around, thats the sohc-vtec ecu right? How about intake manifold, i was thinking about going with Skunk2? and fuel injectors i was thinking about aftermarket rc 320cc injectors or maybe 270cc. as for the motor it's all built already, aftermarket pistons, rods, dual valve springs, retainers, and a mild port polish, i plan on sticking n/a with this motor. How about engine mounts? which ones do i need?? And as for the wiring harness, would it be possible for me to use one from a Civic Ex 92-95?? Thanks for your help, your posts has informed me more then 20 others ones!!

yes, p28 is sohc vtec from a 92-95... it has to be reprogrammed to the specs you want depending on your setup. you can use a wiring harness from a 92-95, yes. for the motor mounts, you'll need b-series ones.

Yes, the P28 is SOHC VTEC. Skunk is cool, id check the price of an OEM ITR first, i cant remember but it might be cheaper and its like the same thing. 320 injectors might be kinda big for your app. 270 would be better. We make all 3 mounts for that car they are 1 piece billet aluminum with urethane inserts, but you dont need them. You can use the stock SOHC rear mount and top of tranny mount, you can use the driver side CR-v mount if its on there but if you didnt get it you can find one pretty easy. Or you can use a 94+ integra driver side mount but you will need the 94+ integra cast bracket that it goes on to that goes into the block if you go that way. You will need a 94+ integra rear tranny bracket and 94+ integra shift linkage(you can get both from the dealer). just use the engine harness thats in the car you get. by getting the P28 ECU chipped to run the DOHC VTEC they can remove some sensors so you wont have to wire them up, like knock and VTEC oil pressure. so the only wire you would need to add is VTEC. If you get an EX coupe or an Si hatch you wont need to add anything because they are SOHC VTEC cars if you get your P28 chipped that way. One program that i know of that you might like is the Mugen chip for the P28, it only has VTEC activation. you can contact http://www.locashracing.com for that.

Styles, what code number will it throw exactly if the IAB is missing? The answer to his question is that he needs a harness. Runs from $150 to $200.

Oops, alow me to correct myself....He will not through a code, but it will not run that well and VTEC will come on at 4000....he could use that GSR ecu, but it would be worth his while to sell, those are not that easy to find and are worth good money to someone that is doing a "GSR" swap into ther OBD1 car.
