Default Buying CRVTEC....is this good price?

Yo. I own a 89 4 door sleeper civic. Used to have a b16 but the tranny blew. I met this guy at my new job, hes selling his EF, i asked if hel sell me just the motor/tranny/ECU/linkage. He said yeah. I offered 1250 dolazz. He said yeah. Is this a good price? Its a bone-stock CRV block, 9.4 compression and all, and a bone stock b16 head. 1st gear wasnt as quick as i thought, it pulled about as hard as my b16 used to but every gear after that had noticebly more torque. Ill just ride it arond while i save up and use it as core for a built b20, and ITR head. Your thoughts comrades?

Either he does not know what he has, or something is wrong with it.

Well, that price seems pretty reasonable....450 for tranny, 400 for CRV block and 300 for b16 head...thtas about 1100

How is that reasonable? I assume the motor is already assemgbled and running because he said he alredy test drove it? It thats the case, then its too good of a deal or he doesnt know what hes selling. Becuase you also have to factor costs of assembly and misc little stuff like gaskets, fluids, and etc

All sounds good, but out of curiousity...why would you want to use an itr head? the b16 has signifigantly more flow, would be just the same with itr cams, and is less dollaz.

a b16 head does not flow more than an ITR head
