Burnt GSR integra in accident.
Hey guys, i need some opinions. my friend totalled his gsr integra, the car flipped and caught on fire. it got burnt real bad.
It still has a gsr motor under the hood. do you think the engine is fine if it was in a fire. besides getting all new plastic parts, sensors and gaskets, do you think that would ruin the engine.
What kind of temperature does fuel burn at when its not inside your engine. could it mealt the aluminum that the motor is made out of.

Who`s integra was it? I hope the guy is ok.
It depends on the condition and how soon the fire was put out. Normally any type of fire will burn away the gaskets/hoses/wiring, etc. and will make a mess. The hardware pieces should still be fine, but other than that, it just depends...

its possible the only things usable are the metal block and head and valvetrain, but even those head parts can be altered under super high heat of car fires.
most likely the longblock and tranny can be salvaged for a rebuild.
ANY PICS?
