Boring the B16a??? what will the outcome be?
I've been hearing a lot of people boring the LS motors but i hardly ever hear about boring the B16a. I just had a few questions.
*what the safest that I could bore it out to?
*I was thinking 84mm. IS that too much?
*how much hp & tq should i expect to make on a stock B16a motor I.H.E ...........
if bored out to 84mm?(stock compression)
Planning to get GE sleeves.
any insite and coments are welcomed. Open to all possiblities

Why do you want to ruin the ALMOST PERFECT rod/stroke ratio of the B16?!!!!! It's like commiting a sin!

Re: Boring the B16a??? what will the outcome be? (Prelude_RCR)
please tell me how i would be hurting the R/S ratio? WTF
IF i understand it right it would not affect the frition & pressure amount on the sleeves at all. Am I right on this?
that is why i ask questions here. so that i may learn befor i act.

Once sleeved you can safely go up to 84.5mm bore if you plan of FI and even larger if you plan to stay NA.
(pi)(radius)(radius)(stroke)(# of cylinders)=displacement
84.5mm bore=42.25 mm radius for the bore=4.225cm
(3.14159)(4.225)(4.225)(7.7)(4)=1727.24........
The increase in torque and hp is roughly equivelent to the increase in displacement.
1727.24-1595=132.4
132.4/1595=.082
So by my math thats roughly 8% more hp. The real gains would come if you went FI with the added boost that you would be able to run with sleeves, rods, and pistons.

Bingo- Personally if I were to take the time to sleeve it, I would just go ahead and go 85mm... but thats just
