Blasphemous Hybrid project.....
Seeing that I have two S2000's, I decided to take the most stock one and get a do a motor swap.
Here's the S that is safe from anything extreme:
Here's the project + some domestic goodness:
Profile
Chopped windshield frame
Motor shot
Didn't get it, did you?
Will be updated once it's finished....yes this was a teaser. There'll be a full write-up done with pictures through various stages of build-up once this project is finished, tested, and published.

Re: (canis)
and to the remarks about this swap. it would kick most of your asses without to much work. 5.0 lightly modded will beat most imports in the heavy as car it came in. now its in a chassis that is light as hell.

A for originality/ E for ewwwwww, it's a ****** ford engine. If you wanted to take a **** under the hood of an S2000 you could have done it for the price of a few squares of toilet paper, hell you've got 2 of them. Instead you went ahead and put a rustang engine in there. You turned it from a 30,000 dollar car into another toothless redneck classic.

Re: (SwissChEz82)
what the hell is wrong with the engine. the 302 has been around a lot longer then any b/h/kseries and are reliable as hell. just for fun my mustang had 175,000 miles on it. went to the track and turned a mid 13 second pass with just i/e/p. hell it is still running now with close to 200,000. so in now way is this a shitty motor. i think the amount of power you could pull from this swap would be way to much for your average ricer(90% of honda-tech).

Re: (slammed00si)
dude as long as ford has been out there.... there vichels havent been so well... i mean come on have you taken apart a ford 351 and put it back together... it sucks.. then if you take a chevy 350 apart, its better, tighter, more power.... over all in the history of engines... i think that ford needs some help, let me refraze that, need a compleat overhall.... and besides... chevy makes a 302 that would put the for to shame... (im a honda, pontiac, chevy. man.....)

'Reliable as hell' and Ford products don't belong in the same sentence. Ford = Found On Road Dead, Frequently Overhauled, Rarely Driven, Fix Or Repair Daily, Driver Returns On Foot (backwards), etc., etc. If you are hellbent on putting pushrods in that car, you should have at least gone LT1/LS1. Unlike the 5.0, those motors can actually make power. The Ford 5.0 is WEAK. A coworker of mine had a 5.0 and did i/h/e, heads, and cam, and the thing only ran high 13's. I'm just not impressed with that motor.

Re: (StorminMatt)
maybe your friend couldnt drive. anyways say what you want but the 5.0 ford motor is one of the most reliable motors i have ever had to deal with. and i do believe chevy has some of the shittiest cars trucks you name it around. its not worth arguing about on the internet anyways. all i know is if this swap comes together that will be a beastly car.
ps what 302 does chevy have? i have seen the inline 6 302 but not any v8 only 305's.

to you for doing something original that YOU will appreciate; to hell what other people think. Can't wait to see the outcome; I'm sure it will be nasty.

I think there was a 302 in the early z-28 camaros, to make them qualify for trans-am racing. could be wrong, though. for creativity, although I personally would have sold the s2000 and done it w/ a miata to save money.

Re: (civicross)
blasphemous indeed.
everyone knows the s2k is torqueless. I can see the irony of sticking in a low revving high tq V8, if for no other reason than to be an *******. personally I wouldn't do it, but that doesn't mean a goddamn thing now does it? its your time and money, not mine.
drag s2000 you're probably gonna **** a lot of people off with that thing
oh and LOL at everyone who doesn't respect the ford V8

Re: (fastwanabe)
Motor was chosen due to:
1. Availability
2. Affordability
3. Other's success with the motor
4. Clearance/Fitment issues without having tocut up the rigid S2000 chassis
5. In cruise mode, the Ford block just sounds devil-ish compared to a LS/LT
6. Ability to match up Ford motor, Ford tranny, and Mazda/Ford rear-end without complete re-fab of the rear sub-frame.
As for those Honda-er's that don't care for American Ford POS motors, that's fine. It's your opinion...btw, here's a thread with a list of my other cars:

Enjoy.
