This is probably going to end up being an opinion thread, so I will give my 2 cents. Reliably speaking it would be safer to run the LS it has lower compression stock and is arguably the strongest OEM block honda built. I have friends running both and im running an LS/VTEC so i guess what all my rambling is trying to say is that its really personal prefernence as to how much work you want to do to the block to get VTEC, but after that when you change the pistons, rods, rings, valvetrain etc they might as well be the same block. Im sure im going to get flamed for 1/2 this post but thats how life works!
