best rods for NA???
Just curious to see which rods you thought were the best for NA street driving? In terms of performance, durability and long term reliability.

I have heard nothing but good things about Eagle rods. Also, Eagle rods are cheap in price compared to other rods like Crower. Also, Eagle rods come with ARP rod bolts. http://www.importparts.com sells them (under $400)

Eagles are good enough for most N/A street applications. Most of us wont reach past 250HP NA anyways, so the Eagle rods are perfect for a street build up.
We stock Eagle as well. so give us a call if intersted.

$335 shipped for Eagle rods is money well spent. Great forged rods!
couldnt go with a more economical rod.
though the crower's kick *** aswell.

Your stock rods WITH ARP rod bolts will take anything you can throw at them for N/A..The weakness lies in the factory rod bolt not in the design of the oem rod itself. The only reason to go aftermarket rods is if you want an aftermarket piston since these are full floating pins while stock is pressed

Maybe he wouldn't build a b20! I sure wouldn't, a b20 is the cheap way to get 2.0L of displacement. The right way is to use a VTEC block and a vtec head and sleeve the block to get 2.0L thats the right way, using a b20 block is skimping on the whole motor.

Wow, aren't you a smart one...yea right.
I'm gonna go off ona limb and say you've never built a motor before, because you don't know ****...thanks. Your the same kinda guy who rattles off that an H22a handles bad and LS Tranny is the best for boost. Gargle up some more internet hype and try to get your learn on. Anytime your in chicago you got a lane...buster. nothing under 1000.

that says own'd written all over it.
I feel the same way, alot of people just spit what they hear other people say.

Re: best rods for NA??? (Nameless)
Well I have always run stock rods with arp's except for the last one(crvtec fully built 238whp) But since I have a gsr now and have a grip of 81mm oem piston choices (ctr,p30,p73 etc) I went with factory, and therefore was forced to go factory rod as well, this motor lives above 8k all day. Can somebody please show me some evidence of a n/a motor breaking a stock rod anyplace other than the factory rod bolt?Aftermarket rods are nice and all, but factory has always treated me better, cheers

Re: best rods for NA??? (Suprdave)
No matter what rods u put in you b20 the block mainly the sleeves are still not made to handle the rpms that u can make with a vtec head. If you drive your car occasionally and race a little than that’s probably good enough for some time, but don't tell me that a b20 block is as safe and reliable as a b18c block revving to 9k. Just a few days ago some guy revved his stock b20 to 9k **** hit the fan and he blamed it on the cams, do you know him by any chance??

Re: best rods for NA??? (leadfoot78)
B20B/Z to B18C?? Well yea I guess I could agree with you there... I would go with a sleeved B18C over a CRV... Can you compare them?? Not really, they have a different stroke that affect the revability... 1.8mm's of stroke.. What happened to the dude with that B20 that blamed it on the cams??? If your cams shatter in any motor it's pretty much fucked... JUN3's w/ a Portflow valvetrain on my friend's CRVTEC... Don't tell me that it would have fucked up if those cams were in there... My other friend has the exact same CRVTEC in his EK only running a CTR IN cam, GSR EX and it's been running fine for a just about a year reving to 8400... Ran a 12.62@107 full interior only tuning the VAFC by feel.... It's getting JUN3's soon w/ their valvetrain and we'll see how it does... Why can't the sleeves handle the rpm?? Yes i realize that they are weaker than a B18C's but **** if you're sleeved then how is an OE sleeve going to be stronger??? Latez
