Default Beating a semi-dead horse: OBD2 B18B1 into OBD1 95 Teg LS

Ok, I have just read about 12 posts over this topic, and I've called some friends. But I am still uncertain about this since most of the posts I read pertained to a Civic Harness.

I will explain exactly what I'll be working with tomorrow so you can see the exact questions I need anwsered before I start this swap in the afternoon.

I have a 1995 Integra LS(ls/vtec is sold as of last night). I am picking up an OBD2 B18B1 tomorrow, which will come with the OBD2 ecu, harness and everything else. I also have a 1996 Civic EX Harness I can pull plugs off of if I need to... as well as the obd2 LS harness.

I have the ODB1 harness in my Teg still, on a chipped P28 ECU atm. I will be using the OBD2 engine, distributor and OBD1 harness/ECU.

What all am I going to need to do to make this setup run properly?

You're going to need to change the fuel injector plugs, convert the distributor over to obd1 (which I am currently making a diagram on), everything else should clip right in. You might need to extend some wires as far as that goes, but that will not be hard.

me and some friends just did this, my engine is obd 2 with all obd 1 harnesses, we changed the plugs on the injectors, took the insides of the alternator and dissy and switched them with the obd 1 (because we did not have any plugs) and then lenthend some wires, it was time consuming but nto to hard

One thing i don't understand is why use the OBDI if you are getting the ODBII harness w/ the motor?

The OBDII harness would be plug and play, and you should not have to rewire anything.

Yo Brandon, finish that diagram yet? I got my swap today, so I will need this asap bro!

I just installed an obd II B18B1 into my obd I civic. You can use the harness that comes on the obd II engine and it will plug into the harness at the shock towers of your car. And then just use an obd I ecu and as far as wiring you will be fine. The only problem I had was with the charcoal canister. On the obd II cars there is only 2 vacuum connections on it, and with the obd I cars there are 3 vacuum connectors. To solve this I used the black purge valve off the intake of my obd I engine intake. I drilled and tapped a hole on the obd II engines intake and bolted the purge valve to it. By doing this I now had a place to run the smaller vacuum hose to the charcoal canister, you will have to tee into one of your other vacuum hoses to supply the new purge valve. You will also need to tap the wires from the obd II purge valve on top of the intake to run your newly installed obd I purge valve. On your obd I engine there is a vacuum hose that runs from your throttle body to the charcoal canister, I use the vacuum source of the original obd II purge valve for this connection to the charcoal canister you just have to find a hose reducer to make the connection be perfect. And the last hose on the canister I did nothing with as it was never taken off, it is a return to the gas tank.

Can you take a pic of how you setup the vacuum lines?

Very true, if you use the OBD2 Integra engine harness, you can retain all of the OBD2 components on the motor and it will plug in at the shock towers in your Integra. All you would need then is an OBD1 LS ECU for plug and play.
