Default b20z/vtec question? ITR part swap.

sup ya, I have a b20z/vtec in my 92 da integra. Bought the car with the motor in already so im not to sure how the setup was done. My question is, I hear that you should change the water pump, timming belt and oil pump and replace the wit ITR parts. How can I tell if my motor set up has the swap already done. The block and all parts attached to it was painted silver (the rebuilt motor silver, so it would look new silver)Also how would the motor run if it still had stock b20z parts. I started to wonder cuz I hear an annoying, motor struggling, roaring noise from the waterpump area and It seems that I alway have problems with the fan switch not activating my radiator fan. I figured the pump was not circulating water well.

wow lol

18T on the water pump LS water pump
22T on the water pump vtec water pump

that is stamped on the water pump gear.

if you have vtec water pump, get a vtec timing belt

nonvtec timing belt, nonvtec water pump

There could be alot of things wrong with your engine but you need to go into more detail for people to help you.

good look! Does anyone know how the motor setup would run if it still had non vtec stock parts. I suspect its still running stock parts, would it cause the motor to sound like an anoyying growling sound from the timming belt area?

Is your timing belt tight? Also, check the water pump; the bearing could be going out.

I noticed timming belt does have play in it(loose). Is that what happens when you run a non vtec pump. Could be right about the bearing going out.
