B20z into an ITR
Anyone see any reason why I should'nt change my JDM ITR block to a B20z one?
My car is a '97 JDM ITR with a B18c2 currently.
I have heard that with this block the peak revs is a lot lower (like 7500) the block can be sleeved to get a higher redline but will I be able to get to the 9000rpm type r red line again with this type of setup?
Anyone got any comments or suggestions about this conversion? Anyone tried this before?

why would you want to take a perfectly good ITR engine and replace with a b20? Keep you ITR. You b20 wont be as powerful as you ITR. And if it does, at least the ITR would be realible.
but if you really want the b20....give me your ITR and ill give you a b20
hhehe

If you want more cubes, just resleeve your B18C5 block. That way, you can still get the displacement you want, but with better reliability.

Re: B20z into an ITR (StorminMatt)
If the B20 bottom end is built correctly it will be fine! Slap a type R head on a stock block and run for cover, it will let go.
If the bottom end is put together with the right parts it will rev to 9000 rpm no problem at all. I build them all the time and I have run them in the high 9K range .
My personel car gets run to 9k evryday and it has boost on top of it.
" Do it right , of do it twice !"

This is one of the dumbest idea's I've read so far. Why don't you just put a D 15 in the pig? Then you can stroke that, put a H22 head on it, use the ITR tranny, fill up the turn signal fluid, change your muffler bearnings, and hook up your head light temperature gauge, then it'll be fast.
