b20vtec or h22a in eg civic?

b20vtec or h22a in eg civic?
I was just wonderin which setup would be faster and more reliable for everyday use? I kno quite a bit about the h22 swap but i kno nothin about b20vtec, so any info would be appreciated especailly how much it costs to do a b20vtec swap.

both motors have pros and cons
they are actually kind of similar with massive amounts of torque, but i think the h22 would be heavier, although probably more reliable...in terms or cost b20vtec will probably run you around 3.5-4 grand... h22 with motor, mounts etc will probably be around 3000, h22 will be more reliable and a lot less work, with CRVTEC you should resleeve/hone the block to make it more reliable and it is overall a harder swap i think...overall i think i would go with the h22...
also, the search feature here is very useful here, you can use it to find a lot of helpful info on topics just like this, alot of things are covered multiple times in threads everyday and we tend to get tired of it, click under archived when searching on topics like this, here is a link https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch

don't go H22. you will go through more axles than you know what to do with. when the H22 is put into a civic, the axles are at crazy angles. i have first hand experience with this about once every other week. i wouldn't wish it upon anybody. plus, B20Vtec setups put down some sick-*** numbers
get benson sleeves, bore them .060" over, and get all golden eagle stuff from there. maybe some 12.5:1 CP pistons, and you're golden

yeah, if you half *** it....get a good mount kit (hasport or HCP) and get the custom axles, you shouldn't have issues......i've seen where people were fine using oem honda axles as well

I've been running the B20VTEC in my car for about 6 months now. And it has great torque value. I haven't had any problems since I've worked out all the bugs when I first got the swap in. During hard runs I usually shift at 8,000 rpm.

you must have done something wrong. If installed properly, and with the correct axels you don't have any issues.

what axle combo did you run? And after the first setup didn't work did you try something else or just replace with new components? I know quite a few people that have daily driven h22 EGs and they're fine no issues at all. I'm doing a H22 build for my new EG too.

hmm you need the motor - roughly $2500 shipped
dss axles (which neither my friends or my h22 civic have had a problem with - $750
mounts - $500 for hasport
harness - $50-100 plus about an 8 hour day of work
thats assuming you have everything else, good radiator, fan, clutch, flywheel, all that good stuff.... honestly the b20 vtec will prob be cheaper depending on where you get your parts from...
the h22 will be more reliable and if you get dss axles you wont have a problem... if you use the 90-93 integra axles you will prob be replacing them every so often
