i dont think you should do that. it has too long a stroke. get the crv engine. its the same stroke as the ls but with a bigger bore.

although the B20A starts with a "B" non of it's parts are compatible with B series engines, hence it is NOT a drop in swap for EG/EK civics and DA/DC integras.
shitty engine, don't even bother...a D16Z6 would probably be faster

haha. true. my friend's 89 prelude 4ws used to get burned by my d16z6 crx everytime we lined up. both stock engines. now its sitting in his yard and he's driving an altima. i got dibs on the brake master cylinder, but anyone needs prelude parts?

ok, first, a crx si will beat an 88-91 prelude because of the weight in the start. after about 60-70 mph, the prelude will walk right by the crx. the crx can not hold up in top speed. second, the b20a5 and b21a1 engines are not crap. there has been no proof of these engines being so bad and everyone that i know has not had a problem with them.
as far as putting that engine into your civic, there will be a lot of modifying to get that engine in there. if you are doing the swap make sure you have a manual tranny, they are smaller than the automatic tranny's (because of the sports shifter crap and the bell housing). you will need custom axles made, custom engine mounts - especially because the b20a5 engine leans back towards the firewall instead of straight up, the hydrolic clutch settup if your civic doesn't have it, a lot of patience to get the wiring swapped over - your best bet would be to try to wire in the engine controls to the civic wires - or else replace the whole wiring system from the civic with the prelude wiring (not a fun job). this will not be an easy exchange and will take a lot of patience and moving and removing and bolting down and unbolting and moving and a lot of patience (i know i already said that) and possibly some help from at least one or two other people to try to get it to go smoother. when you are done though, you should have a pretty good moving civic. oh, you will also need to get a custom exhaust job done because you will never get the header from the prelude to match up with the exhaust from the civic.
good luck.

Daily driving, well that's a different story..............
After all the money you spend for custom installation, you will still be slow and very dissapointed.
Different isn't always good.

that motor is not the worst one that honda ever made. the dx motor for the civics is the worst motor honda ever made. now power and nothing you can do to get power out of it. there are plenty of modifications you can do to the b20a5 motor and plenty of bolt-ons that you can get, including a turbo, or if you would rather go nos, there is a kit for that too. that motor can put over 200 hp to the wheels with just a turbo kit. that motor also doesn't have to be rebuilt from bottom up if you run the car as high as 8 psi all day long. not bad for a piece of **** motor huh? and the 206 hp at the wheels is the b21a1 with just the turbo kit and running at only 5 psi. good start, i'd say. easy to install in a civic, no. but there is no reason for that motor getting such a bad rep. give it a rest guys.

what everyone is trying to say here is, for the price it costs to get this engine to fit and work in your car you could get a MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH(get the idea here) better swap...
anyone who tells you different, well..

do you have any timeslips for the three cars you've had with the B20a1?
Just curious to see what they run.
All I see here is high 16's
