B20/vtec oil pump/timing belt question
I read somewhere (I think c-speed) that if you use a B20 oil pump then you need to use a B20 timing belt.
For verification, can you use an ITR oil pump on a B20 block, and if so, can you use the B18 timing belt?

Yes. The ITR and b20 oil pumps flow the same.
I used a b20 oil pump and GSR belt and water pump.

I see, I think I was confused. Its not the oil pump that matters, its the water pump. If you use the GSR/ITR water pump you have to user the GSR/ITR timing belt.

Re: B20/vtec oil pump/timing belt question (RTW DC2)
LS/B20 water pump = LS/b20 timing belt
B18c water pump = B18c timing belt
B18c water has more teeth on it than LS ones do.
All B-series crank sprockets are the same and the oil pump attaches to the crank, not the
timing belt. They are interchangeable.

I used a b20 timing belt and water pump with a b20z2 and b16a2 head. Im starting to have over heating problems now. Make sure you use a Vtec Oil pump, water pump, timing belt to run it right.

Did you rule out other possible causes first?
