B20 Swap please help!!!!!
Alright, I am not new to the site, but it has been awhile and I couldnt figure out my login info. Anyway, I have a situation. My girlfriend blew up her 98 CRV engine. We purchased a 99-00 JDM B20 block from JDM Engine Corp. Myself and a friend planned on doing it in another person (Who we didnt know what wells) garage. Anyway, after a day of pulling the engine out I decided to ask if he would like to install the new one and get it running and I would pay him. Well its been 6 months and he just got the engine in... seriously. It's been a mess. Now the engine is in, he did the wiring "hack" and the problem is the engine dies immediately after it starts. Even stranger, if you disconnect the cruise control vacuum line it will stay running. He was thinking timing so he did that, and he did not help. Now he is saying that the computer is trying to correct the wrong signals, and he needs to override that by tying together a blue plug that is in the dash that will stop the computer from adjusting anything... does this sound right? Does anyone have any ideas? I am thinking about having it towed home and trying to figure it out myself. I really appreciate any help or suggestions you guys have!
Thank you,
Thank you,

Re: B20 Swap please help!!!!!
Get it out of his possession ASAP. This should have been basically plug and play no wring hacks needed (with exception of the CKF at the crank). He should have swapped anything over that wouldn't plug and play (ie distributor).

Also, check to make sure the wiring harness is grounded at the thermostat housing.
Thats all I got. If you happen to be in Tennessee, hit me up. Im up for a challenge.

This is the wiring hack that supposedly was done .:FFS TechNet:. » ECU & WIRING How-To Articles » CKF Bypass Trick
as of now the engine still starts runs rough and dies out. Unless you disconnect a vacuum line, like the cruise, then it stays running. He was thinking maybe the intake manifold was leaking??? im out of ideas.
