B20 long block into my 92 DA to beat ITR, is it worth it? Will it be a lot faster?
Alright, I want to be able to beat a Type-R with I/H/E in a race, and Im considering getting a B20 block cuz its cheap. Then later going VTEC with it, but for now, will this be enough, with my factory LS tranny, or should I get a clutch and flywheel? Will that even be enough? Or is my best bet a GS-R swap? But my problem is that I dont have that much money to spend right now, and if I get the B20 Im dropping it in myself the way I get it from the junkyard, plus Im considering a ACT clutch and Fidanza 7lb flywheel. Does anyone have any clue wether that should be enough to give the type-R a good run, or any suggestions?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Do you ask because the people who keep stealing all your stuff drive an R.
To get the b20 to beat an R you'll need a hell of a lot of money to build an all motor set up along with completely tub your car along with a good diet and ditching the ls tranny or turbo.

The same amount of money both ways and you'll still get your *** spanked. Maybe you'd win with some toy cars.
You don't plan on going fast with that B20 do you?

So does anyone have a suggestion as to keeping my interior, but spanking that ITR? I cant afford turbo, and even if I built a B20/VTEC, I wouldnt have the money to build it right, so I'd be reving at like 8grand, and I dont think thats enough from what everyone is making it seem like. Stock B20/VTEC is all I can afford, if anything, so what else can I do? Dammit, I shoulf get like a 100 shot of NOS for one good run, and then BOOM!!!

No, but B20 + 75 shot will suffice in some R spanking. I've seen it done with SOHC + 75 shot.
I still don't know why people insist on drag racing an ITR though.

If he can't afford a turbo he probably can't afford well built internals. The NOS will do you no good.
Try praying the driver mis-shifts.

Who said anything about forged internals? The B20 can take a simple 50-75 dry kit easy.
The clutch, on the other hand, might need some help after a few hard runs.

Don't get his hopes up.
Just slash the Type-R's tires.

For ****'s sake it's just another Hype R.
Put together your B20vtec
Here is some cheap horsepower:
Mill the head .060"
• Should yeild 10.37:1 in a B20b
• Should yeild 11.55:1 in a B20z
• Port your own head pm me for instructions
• Cut and port your manifold
• Be sure to dig out your pistons for VTEC sized intake Valves
• CTR Cams
• Be sure to get a VTEC Trans
• Borrow some Drag Radials from a Buddy
• Practice
• Remember that a 6k feather launch is faster than a 3k stomp

get a b20z long block because at least that one has 146 whp 133tq compare to the b20b which has 133whp 121tq or something like that.but to really beat that itr you need to put a vtec head on it like a b16 head since it flow better than a gsr head and its cheaper, even with this setup it'll be cheaper than a gsr swap and youll get more hp outta it specially torque.

b20b skunk2 IM ported LS TB Kamikaze header with 2.5in collector maganflow resonator with turn down AEM CAI all cooling hoses rerouted from the IM and IM gasket tuned on a dyno pak with hondata s100
162 whp in a 2000 pound car vs 175 whp in a 2600 pound car
