b20 into my '90 DA
whats going on....
I need help with my b20 that I'm installing in my DA.
Because it is OBD 0 and the motor is a OBD 2 I needed to change a bunch of things over. My question is in the back of the motor to the left of the oil filter there is some wiring differences. My current LS motor has one single wire plug, then to the left of it is a plug that has two wires. On the new B20 motor there is only the single wire plug. Now would my computer throw a code or would it become dead, kinda like the the wiring that connects to the power steering. I'm trying to figure out if i need to ground them or apply 5 volts.
If there is anything you would like to throw in as a reminder of what i need to do because this swap is new to me it would be appreciated.
Gilbert.

Re: b20 into my '90 DA (elevated)
The single wire in the oil pressure sending unit. Same on the b20.
The two wire plug on the back of your ls block is your radiator fan switch.
On the b20 its on the thermostat housing(and uses a different style plug).
So you just need to cut the connector off of your ls harness, extend the wires a bit and put the b20 style connector on.
The connector is a common 2 wire plug, so it shouldnt be hard to find one.
Good luck with your swap.

Re: b20 into my '90 DA (elevated)
There is also another sensor in the same area on the DA engine. It is screwed into a hex plug, which is in turn screwed into the oil drain passage (not to be confused with the coolant temp fan switch discussed above).
This sensor will run the AC fan for 15 minutes after the engine is shut off when the oil temp rises above a certain level. Newer Integras, etc. don't have this -- better underhood ventilation perhaps?
There will be a hex plug on the back of the B20 block which you can remove and install the DA plug/sensor into. Unless you run the Endyn breather, in which case you'll have to get creative ...
