B20 head swap questions

I picked up a 98 crv a few weeks ago for the low, like free low. I’m going to throw some money into an engine build. This is my first build so, I’m looking for a little help.

Got the B20b out of it, had a bent valve.
Going to get it honed and throw some new pistons in.
Can someone point me in the right direction?

Ive been reading hours on the b16 head swap so, I’m going to go ahead and do that also with a stage two cam.
The couple questions I have are;
What Year head should I use and best donor car?
How do I go about getting the ecu to stay awd and do I need to use the donors?
What valves to go with considering the issues from this swap?

Might be some really retarded questions but, those are the ones I’m stuck at.

Re: B20 head swap questions

Make sure the new pistons are designed for the VTEC head (larger valve reliefs than standard B20 pistons).

If youre going to put cams in it, youll need to also upgrade the valve springs. While youre at it, replace the LMAs with the updated ones (Skunk2, Blox, H22). For that reason it doesnt really matter what year the head is.

The ECU does not control the AWD, so you can use a chipped OBD1 ECU with a jumper harness without any issues. Youll need larger injectors for a cammed B20/VTEC. Dont cheap out on injectors.

Use stock valves.

Any recommendations on the springs, Lmas, and injectors?
