Default B20, California Smog? Anyone tried to get a BAR sticker? Intake manifold issue?

We all know the B20 doesn't fit unless you get the LS intake manifold, has anyone seen/talked to a ref, reading the "rules" would make it illegal to swap the intake manifolds. Therefore, B20's are not "legal".

Someone want to proove me wrong or add theory to my theory?

Many JDM B20Bs actually come with the LS intake manifold. They run the B20 on another model of their SUV / city-car / box on wheels, and it comes looking EXACTLY like a B18A. So then you won't be swapping intake manifolds anyway...

Possible......hrm....I wonder if they use the "ls" manifold on the B20Z since I will need a 2000 engine.

i know they will have a fit with the IM if they know about a change...they asked me if my IM on my B18C was suppose to be there...however i dont know exactly how different the b20 and b18a/b IMs look...it is illegal to 'hybrid' engine parts though...i know that for sure

My point exactly. The B20 Intake manifold is a huge POS that won't fit under the hood. You need a B18 intake manifold. So in a way you are hybriding the engine.

Well, the way I was planning on doing it is re-registering the vehicle to be known carrying to the B20 in the engine bay, therefore the would smog it as a B20.
