B18c5 into 98 LS

would you have to change to 5 lug from the LS 4 lug?

will the axles from a Type R bolt up to the suspension on an LS?

Also, could i in theory, get coilovers and brakes, on an LS, then swap in the Type R motor with no problem?

is there any info i should know about this swap?

Only if you want to do a 5 lug conversion, it's definitely not necessary.

If the axles are USDM they will fit, you can even reuse your stock axles (they are the same). The later year JDM axles use a larger hub with a different amount of splines so they will only work with the larger JDM 5 lug hubs.

The motor and tranny are basically a bolt-in replacement. Nothing about the swap will affect things like that.

I'll be getting a full JDM swap kit including axles. Do you know what year motor swap kits would cause problems? I was planning on doing the 98-01 Type R motor into a 1998 LS.

any of your mentioned years of motors will work fine in your LS. you can just keep the axles for later if you plan on doin a 5 lug conversion and use your stock axles for now. should be pretty straight forward with the exception of wiring in VTEC press, solenoid, and knock wires. if your car doesn't have knock. the 98's mite, tho, can't remember off top of my head. the 98-01 motors have 210 hp, and the 96-97 type r's have 200.

drop that shit in, keep your LS axles and just use those (no need to change 4 lug for 5 lug when you dont need it, but if you want to more power to ya!)..wire up the VTEC right, then go have fun! https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

the only problem you'll run into with 98-01 JDM ITR axles is that they use a 36mm outter axle joint. So its best if you just reuse your existing LS axles. All US integra's & civics use a 32mm outter axle joints. But, if you really wanna use the JDM ITR axles with the 36mm outter joint, you'll need to buy CRV or prelude hubs because those vehicles use 36mm outter axle joints.
