Default B18C5 with a b16 tranny?

Here's the deal. Me and my buddy are rippin' out my b16 and puttin a b18c5 in it. But we dont have the type-r tranny which of course is the point of this topic. Now i know that i can use any b tranny with it but is this a shitty tranny to use?

Thanks. I thought i was gonna get a bunch of crap. But we'll give it a shot. That's what we are gonna do. We're buildin the b16 for boost and the type-r all motor. It'll probably take a while but I'm gonna make a thread soon of the type-r build. So check it out when i do.

No, The JDM 98+ Type R tranny has the same 4-5 gears as our USDM GSR, 1.034 4th and 0.787 5th.

The USDM ITR tranny (OP's location is New Hampshire) Has identical gearing to the USDM B16 Tranny.

This is explained in greater detail in my b-series tranny page
