Default b18c5 in '88 crx si: use j1 cable tranny or convert to hydro tranny (jdm itr)?

Just like the topic says, how hard is it to convert to hydro tranny on a crx si?

Any links or faq's on this subject would be great.

need custom mount and hydro-cable adapter.

FYI the one that place makes doesnt work with any 4-1 header.

best to stay with cable imo

Stay with the cable trany...you can do the 98 Spec F/D swap into it with a little work

Default HASPORT...

I believe Hasport makes a conversion kit so that you can use a complete 92+ B-series engine+hydro transmission in a cable driven tranny equipped Civic/Crx/integra...

or you can just look for YS1 transmission which has the exact same gear ratios as an ITR tranny, but in cable form.

Well I looked at your site: tiiite.b16a.com/bgears.htm but I didn't see the ys1 listed with ratios. Also, you have a note there that the tranny's gear ratio's aren't necessarily reflected by what is stamped on the casing.....

Can anyone direct me to a url or confirm that the ys1 final and 1-5 are the same as on the jdm itr?

Hurell, I've already sent you an IM earlier today - did you get it?

I converted my 91 HB to hydro tranny and it wasn't that difficult. I would see the things that would hold people up are having to make the tranny mount (I modified a HCP mount) and acquiring the hydro pieces(pedal, slave cylinder, lines, etc.). The part of the conversion that took me the longest was enlarging the hole that the cable goes through, it was reinforced all around it. Email me if you want more information on the swap.
