b18c1, obdII question...
hey guys, new to the board hoping you all can help me out. as you can tell from the sig ive got a gsr in my coupe...heres the catch. Ive got a check engine light and there are a few things i never noticed before looking in depth at the engine bay....first off, one of my vacuum lines is disconnected and i'm not sure as to where it goes. there are 3 lines coming from the charcoal canister and its the smaller one on the very top thats disconnected. i figured it might go to the evap solenoid but that's already got a line coming from it, and down under the intake manifold and i can't see where it eventually ends up. since its an obdII i cant pull the codes to find out and i really hate to take it to a honda dealership to have them pull the codes if its something easy. i figure its something that has to do with the evap but i just cant figure out what. any help or diagrams would be appreciative. thanks guys.

The motor doesn't matter, what ecu are you running?
If it's an OBDI ecu, just flash the code and tell us what they are.
You will NEVE fix the problem if you can't get the code.

get the codes like the other guys were saying. as for the extra vac line coming from the canister, just plug it up. i have a 99b18c1 in my 5th gen coupe and i'm running a stock'94 p72 and thats what i did. I have never thrown any codes with the extra line plugged up. hpoe this helps.

the problem with it is that im running the 97 ecu WITH the 97 engine. as i had stated in the original post, id rather not spend the money to have honda "scan" the ecu for problems if i dont have to. i just figured someone might have the same swap and could possibly have a vacuum diagram of some sort i can take a look at.

1. find the service check connector under the glove box near the ecu.
2. use a jumper wire (paper clip) toconnect the two wires.
3. turn the ignition switch to the ON position
4. the check engine light will begin to blink
5. the longer blinks represent the first # of the code, then there will be shorter blinks for the second #.
6. if there is more than 1 code there will be pause and it will do the next code
7. it will keep repeating the code or codes over and over
example: 2 long blinks, 3 short blinks=code 23
P.S. why the hell are u running an obd2 ecu in a obd1 car?????????????

i wasnt aware you could jump an OBDII ecu like an OBDI....i thought you had to use a special scan tool for the OBDII, which is why i never jumped it before. anyways, the engine is OBDII and it came with the OBDII ecu, this is a USDM motor and we did a complete legit swap and had it cali smogged to spec.

yeah youre telling me bout cali smog....but than again i used to live in the bay area where we HAD to smog our cars once a year, so rather than deal with that all the time, just get it done right the first time. i'll try the jump later on tonight and see what i can find.
