Default b18c1 in 89 crx with various stock honda motor mounts

can this be done? i've spent 3 days searching and found a lot of stuff i wasn't looking for, but not the specific answer to my question. hasport mounts are $400, and it sounds like there are issues with ground clearance, or hood clearance, or both! i would like to buy a few different stock mounts and be able to bolt it right up. also, what issues am i going to run into with installing the matching tranny? the donor car is a 100% complete, 1995 GS-R, i crashed it myself.

it is impossible to mount up your motor with stock mounts no matter which ones you have. and no, the hasport mounts don't have clearance issues on the top or bottom. i have hasports on my swap and they are perfect. i would highly suggest them, there is none better. as for the tranny, a 95 gsr tranny is hydraulically operated. the tranny that would've came out of your 89 rex was cable operated (guarunteed). with this being said, you will need a cable to hydro conversion kit. without this kit you are dead in the water.

thanks for the reply! so i better add up all my costs before i buy this car. by the time i'm done it might end up costing as much as an integra shell. and wait, the cable to hydro is referring to the clutch actuation, right? not the shifter itself...cuz the shifter is linkage, correct?

yes the the linkage will also have to be modified to make it work so your looking at either converting your car to hydro or you can convert your tranny to cable. and run the hasport kit. and you are going to have to use a different shift linkage. also the b series header wont bolt up to the d series flange will have to have it rewelded

so with one of those adapters, and a different linkage (from reading other threads it sounds like i need a 90-93 teg linkage) i should be good to go? and i can use my gsr tranny and axels and the crx hubs and everything will work? i don't want to start and find out this is going to cost as much an integra shell would have

you need 90-93 teg axels(non abs) you also need a bseries shift linkage cut and rewelded depending on the type of crx you have you may have to change out the hubs. http://www.hasport.com/Product...2.htm for the shift linkage and mount kit you will need to use the hydro tranny

the crx is an 89, either a dx or hf, i can't tell from the pics. it has no sunroof, manual windows and locks, but it does have a tach.

hasport mounts do make the hood buldge a little bit. i have 5 friends with b series and hasport mounts in crx's the ground clearance is fine. its gonna be hard to get that motor into the car without the hasport conversion cauise your tranny is a hydro and the crx is a cable. just get the kit and save yourself the headache. o and convert to obd1 too. makes a hell of a big difference

hasport has different part #s on their site for cable and hydro trannies. is there a difference in the actual mounts themselves, or does the hydro kit just come with the adapter?

since all crxs have cable transmissions, and a 94-95 gsr has a hydro you need the hyro conversion to make that tranny work in the crx. its just a simple conversion that is bolted to the tranny then the clutch cable attaches to it. the mounts are all the same. they different part numbers are probably the stiffness of the insert in the mount. ie street, street strip, race.

ok, cuz on the website hasport differentiates between the mount kit for hydro trans, and the mount kit for cable trans. the hydro trans mount kit probly just includes the adapter. anybody know of a knockoff adapter? do you know how drunk i could get for $150?!
