Default b18c eg coupe

i have just recently put a b18c in my eg coupe (still have the stock dx exhaust piping) and i raced my friend in his baseline rsx.... im a decent driver and he is a good driver but he whooped me 2 out of the 3times we raced. the one time that i won i raped him but it was because i jumped off the line a little too quick...does this all sound right? i woulda just thought that because of my cars weight and the gsr motor that it would atleast be able to beat a stock rsx.... is there something seriously wrong with my car are does this sound about right? please post!

I couldn't tell you what to check out on the motor, but that definitely does not sound correct. Easiest thing I can think of would be to take it to the dyno make sure it's making good numbers.

stock RSX type S's run a 15.0. So something is off on your motor or driving skills

you should be running in the 14's, even with the little bit of extra coupe weight, granted he's got the initial torque advantage but you should be able to catch him up top, besides your backpack's got jets.

Putting a Gsr in a civic couple wouldnt that make it the same as a stock gsr haha? not sure what weight difference is. I've driving a few rsx and there pretty quick for stock. Maybe your vtec isnt hooked up? Also that dx exhaust is a big restriction.

are you running full 1/4 miles?
'cuz the rsx would prolly take you i the 0-60

if he is a much better driver it could just be that

Do a compression test if you get a chance. Does the new motor give you any troubles at all? As far as sometimes not starting, or running shitty or anything? Compression is very key...

not quite, it depends on the year and exact model. i know the 94 dx with a half tank of gas with full interior and one driver is around 2500 lbs... add the differance in the motors (not sure what it is)... ill guess 100lbs. so thatll add up to 2600 max. Thants about the same as a gsr with little gas and no driver.

anyways, that does sound off. if i were you, id get a compression check, or a driver check... haha. not bashing you at all but maybe let your friend drive your car and you drive the rsx and see what happens.

did you feel like you got a good launch, did you think you drove it well? if so, something's wrong. not sure if an exhaust could make that much of a differance, but you never know.
Good Luck!
