potential isn't the right word....
gsr or nonvtec b20??? go gsr it's more expensive out the gate but if your asking this question you haven't price out the vtec conversion (with tranny)....
you can always sleeve the 1.8 to a 2.0 if you really want to
i have 2 ls/vtecs (one b18 and one b20) believe me it's much easier and cheaper to build the vtec motor...

to me a gsr is better cause
1.realiable
2.ok priced
3.realiable
if it was me id go with the gsr the b20vtec may cost you more in the long run but its your choice

id go with the crv tec,ive got a 84mm lsvtec. hybrid motors have a bad rep because of the wanna be mechanics. ive seen three attempts fail and the fourth was done by my friend with the same parts except head gasket...............now it runs hard. the gsr crank girdle has alot of piece a mind though, when you go past 9500
