the pcv valve tube should go straight to the intake manifold. im guessing the black box you're talking about is the oil breather. it doesn't come with one so don't worry about it. hope that helps.

On the 96+ LS engine there is no breather box because it vents the crankcase through the PCV on the valve cover and connects directly to the intake manifold, if you don't have one go get one from the auto parts store. Only cost a few bucks.

He is saying if you don't have a Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve then to go get one at an auto store.
If you want a black box I will give you one pay shipping but its not needed for your motor.

Look at the second set of pictures towards the bottom. This is the piece that I fabbed up to run my catch can system. This also eliminates my "Black Box" so I have an extra so to say.

Without some ingenuity I would have to say search for topics with catch can setup or removal of oem pcv.
I am not very well versed in LS blocks so I can not provide much assistance to you from this point.
Sorry.
However there are alot of LSVTECs and alot of LS's out there and I am sure it has been beaten to death so I know info is around covering it. I just have not had a personal need to find it so I have no real knowledge with the subject.
If I run across some I will post links for you.
